Golfers are triumphant on the green
Dudley Venner and Len Baker were announced as the winners of the Amarulo Spur golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.
POLOKWANE – Dudley Venner and Len Baker were announced as the winners of the Amarulo Spur golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.
The challenge was played in a betterball format.
Venner and Baker won with 45 points. They were followed by Charles Mara and Chérie Siebert with 43 points, while Anthony Olley and Lenny Olley came in third place with 42 points.
Len Olley and Vincent Olley were in the fourth place with 41 points and Charlie Smith and Jaques Pretorius came in fifth place with 40 points.
Vincent Olley was awarded for playing nearest to the pin for two at the ninth hole, while Lenny Olley was rewarded for playing nearest to the pin for two at hole number 18.
On Wednesday, golfers competed in the Polokwane Golf Club day, which some used as preparation for the Sun Meropa Golf Challenge on Saturday.
Golfers should bear in mind that it is compulsory to attend the prize-giving ceremony after every tournament. Anyone who does not attend the prize-giving ceremony will lose out on the prize.
Golfers are also urged to keep the golf course clean and repair all the marks on the greens.
