Golfers take a swing at Mike’s Chicken monthly medal
Around 91 golfers gathered at the Polokwane Golf Club to battle it out in the Mike's Chicken monthly medal individual stableford format golf challenge played on Saturday.
POLOKWANE – Around 91 golfers gathered at the Polokwane Golf Club to battle it out in the Mike’s Chicken monthly medal individual stableford format golf challenge played on Saturday.
Most golfers used the club day on Wednesday and the Castle Lite Sundowner golf challenge on Friday to prepare for the Mike’s Chicken monthly medal.
All the golfers took to the fairway with the aim to claim the first place in their respective categories, but there could only be one winner. Carl Naudé made the jackpot lucky draw at holes six, eight, thirteen and sixteen but unfortunately there was no winner. The jackpot now stands at R5 900 but only R4 720 is payable. On Saturday, golfers will compete in the Specsavers individual stableford golf challenge.
Mike’s Chicken monthly medal results are as follows:
Men A-division (handicaps 9 and under)
1. Edwin Mackay – 71 points.
2. Malebani Pataki – 73 points.
Men B-division (handicaps 10 to 18)
1. Kobus Marnevick – 70 points.
2. Mmemezi Dlamini – 70 points on a count-out.
Men C-division (handicaps 19 and above)
1. Wynand Pretorius – 66 points.
2. Dennis Kanstra – 69 points.
Ladies A-division (handicaps 18 and under)
1. Cherie Siebert – 75 points (chicken).
2. Luania van Rooyen – 76 points (trophy).
Ladies B-division (handicaps 19 and above)
1. Nola Peceur – 83 points.
