‘Black Leopards belong in PSL’ assistant coach
Lidoda Duvha's assistant coach, Joel Masutha, wants his players to win both home and away games in order to be at the top of the league log before the second round.
LIMPOPO – Black Leopards played to a goalless draw against African Warriors during their National First Division (NFD) match played at Charles Mopeli Stadium in the Free State on Sunday.
This put Lidoda Duvha in third position on the NFD log with four points, while Baroka FC is in second place with six points after winning 1-0 against Mbombela United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday. The NFD newcomers, Mbombela United, suffered their first defeat.
Lidoda Duvha’s assistant coach, Joel Masutha, was disappointed with the draw because his team has quality players. He wants his players to win both home and away games in order to be at the top of the league log before the second round.
“Warriors were saved by their goalkeeper as he made a brilliant save when our attacking midfielder, Roggert Nyundu, was terrorising them. Nyundu made three attempts and the goalkeeper flicked them over the goalpost,” Masutha said.
“The homeside (Warriors) were also expecting a win because the team was playing in front of a large home crowd. Now we are encouraging our boys to work harder, especially the strikers. They must put the ball in the net because time wasted can never be gained. Next weekend we are going to Mthatha to clash against the Bush Bucks and we are expecting to collect maximum points. I want to see the team walk easily back into the Premier Soccer League (PSL) because that is where we belong,” Masutha concluded.
