POLOKWANE – If you have ample freetime available this weekend the sporting fraternity will play its usual part to keep you busy in the city or on Super Sport.

The Mazda Polokwane Nite Race will take place at the B and C rugby fields behind the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday, 2 October at 18:30, so make sure you pack your running shoes and enjoy a night of running.

The Mikes Chicken Monthly Medal Golf Challenge will take place throughout the day at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.

There will also be a Limpopo Provincial Big Walk at the Polokwane Rugby Club, Polokwane Municipality and Capricorn District, on Sunday, 4 October, starting at at 08:00.

On television Super Sport offers loads of top-class rugby and soccer action.

On Saturday there is a couple of sporting events to watch on the dish.

At 13:00 the Absa Currie Cup Premier Division will continue into the ninth round and will see the Steval Pumas clash against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs.

South Africa will battle it out against Scotland in the International Rugby Board (IRB) Rugby World Cup from 17:30 so make sure you don’t miss out and support the Springboks.

The Barclays Premier League will continue into match day eight and will first see Crystal Palace take on West Bromwich Albion at 13:00, then Manchester City go head to head against Newcastle United at 15:45 before Chelsea take on Southampton at 18:00.

The Telkom Knockout Round of 16 will also take place on Saturday, and will first see the Golden Arrows go against Ajax Cape Town at 14:30 and then Mamelodi Sundowns will clash against Chippa United at 19:30.
