LIMPOPO – Wake Up 2015 FC won 2-1 over Milanos FC to secure a spot in the quarter finals of the Tsiki-Tsiki Tournament at the Mashibiring sports ground recently.
Wake Up recently knocked Milanos out of the tournament, which was played at Marula Platinum sports ground.
Wake Up dominated the game from the first minute where chances were created but failed to be utilised.
A first goal scored by David Sebopela with a great header created by Tumelo Phokane in the first 10 minutes was seen as a weapon which punished the opponents.
Lesego Mabilu gave the opponents a hard time after scoring the second goal on the 38th minute.
Thabo Komane of Milanos tried several shots, but was denied even a single goal after goalkeeper Agree Ngoatle made several saves.
After the interval, Milanos tried to get the game in their favour, but this was futile as Wake Up offered a good defence.
Wake Up coach, Mahlathene Bull Moropa, said their games are all about game plan and he knew they would win the game.
“We all wanted to win as a team and we knew that with team spirit, we could win the game fair and square.
“Though football is all about challenges, we felt the referee was taking sides but a win is a win and we are glad we finally won the game regardless and made it to the quarter finals.
“We are going to train very hard to ensure that no team we compete against makes it difficult for us,” Moropa said.
According to Milanos coach, Lesiba Tebele, the game was difficult for their side and what worries him is that the players did not use each other according to their plans.
“Failing to work on our mistakes seem to be a serious punishment to us because whatever mistakes we made today are similar to the ones we made in the previous tournament; it is a pity we failed.
“We are going to take it back to the drawing board and see what plan we can come up with in the next games,” Tebele said.
