Glory for golfers at Mercedes Trophy tourney

The pinnacle event for Mercedes-Benz and golf enthusiasts, the Mercedes Trophy Golf Tournament, attracted more than 80 golfers to the Kameeldoring Golf Club

MOKOPANE – This year marks the 20th anniversary of this prestigious event in South Africa, renowned for Mercedes-Benz customers going head-to-head on the golf course battling for the winning title and a chance to play in the national finals on 6 August in Mauritius.

Golfers teed off early on Friday morning and after a tough competition, Malebana Pataki, Antonie Abrahamse and Mathew Guiricich were crowned as the winners in the A, B and C-division.

These players said they were excited to test their golfing mettle in Mauritius, and they hope to qualify for the Mercedes Trophy World Final in Stuttgart, Germany, the ‘home place of the automobile,’ later this year.

Golfers said they thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and one of the highlights of they day was Dave Usendorff, one of the best guest speakers in the golf industry, showing off his golfing skills.

Jon White, Mercurius Motors dealer principal, thanked everyone who made the Mercedes Trophy a success and wished the winners the best of luck in Mauritius.
