Awesome bowls action at sports day
Christo Van Der Merwe won the Men's singles club bowls championships recently.
POLOKWANE – The championships took place at the Pietersburg Sports Day organised by the club. He finished with an impressive score of 21 points while his opponent, Anton Van Der Bergh, only managed 8 points.
There were also amateur teams present on the day. According to Mervyn Osbourne, Vice President of the club, the teams come to play for recreational purposes. “Some of the teams are beginners, they have never played bowls before. They come here to have a fun day with their families and enjoy the sport,” he stated.
