Baker, Cook win golf challenge
Len Baker and Les Cook proved to be the better team in the province after outdoing their rivals on the greens during the Windhoek Lager Golf Challenge held at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday. See the results here.
POLOKWANE – The duo was announced as the winners of the challenge after accumulating 43 points on a count-in. They were followed by Julius Mapatha and Goitsimang Moseki in second place with 43 points on a count-out.
Morné Myburg and Hein Viljoen settled for third place after finishing the challenge with 42 points on a count-in.
This challenge, with a total of 77 golfers competing, saw Moseki claim another prize for nearest to the pin at hole 14. Theo Allison scooped the prize for playing nearest to the pin for two at hole nine.
Golfers had their sights set on the lucky jackpot draw, made by Cindy Koekemoer at hole 10, 11, 12 and 14. The jackpot stood at 3 190 units with only 2 550 units payable. There was no winner.
