Limpopo Softball Association (LSA) ushered in a new era on Sunday with the election of a new leadership
POLOKWANE – Phuti Kgomo was instilled as the new chairperson
Kgomo said he wanted players and administrators back on fields and offices.
“As I take the reins, my mandate is to ensure players are kept active on the fields of play. Most imperatively, softball should be taken to areas of Vhembe and Mopani where it was not popular.”
Mmakwena Laka was elected as the deputy chairperson, while Lekau Mamabolo steps in as the new secretary. Mamaolo Rebels’ Tumisho Ntsoane was elected as the treasurer, while Thabang Letsoalo has taken the development reins.
Letsoalo has already made his intentions clear of reviving softball. His main focus being grassroots, reviving defunct clubs, schools and introducing the game in areas like Vhembe and Mopani.
Botlokwa Angels boss, Stoki Meela, was uncontested for the position of tournaments manager.
Vatiswa Mhlubulwana, who is originally from the Eastern Cape, was the only candidate as an additional member.
She has already revealed her intentions to make women’s voices heard in the male-dominated game.
