Benny’s boys off to France

POLOKWANE – Benny’s Sports Development and Academy’s young charges qualified to participate in the Danone Nations Cup World Final in France in October after a 5-4 victory against North West in Boksburg during the weekend.

The team coach, Mbishi Mokwena, said the journey has not been an easy one but they are thankful nevertheless.

The boys played well when they beat Sekakate Primary School from Sekhukhune 1-0 in the final match and went through to the finals Boksburg.

Mokwena said the team goalkeeper, Hulisani Mashau, was instrumental in their victories.

“He saved dangerous strikes that could have eliminated us from the tournament.

“Our boys are going to meet with the famous Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid coach, who is also the international Ambassador of the Danone Nations Cup,” said Mokwena. Danone Communication Specialists, Chantel Ehlers said through the Danone Nations Cup they reach young children at a crucial age.

The tournament is the world’s biggest football tournament for children between 10 and 12, and involve over 34 000 schools and 11 000 clubs from around the world.
