Slim lead for Baroka boys in PSL standings
Baroka Football Club are leading the current standings in the Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) on 19 points, albeit enjoying a slender lead of one point ahead of Buccaneers.

LIMPOPO – Having played 12 matches thus far, with a goal difference of five to the one of Orlando Pirates, the Limpopo side from Ga-Mphahlele near Polokwane still have three matches left for 2017 before the PSL season continues after the December holiday.
Baroka FC won four of its games, drew level in seven matches and lost one encounter.
Pirates played 12 matches with four wins, seven draws and one loss.
Baroka must still play away against Mamelodi Sundowns on 5 December and Maritzburg United on 8 December.
Baroka FC’s last match for 2017 at home in the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex is against Supersport United on 17 December.
Baroka fans will have their fingers crossed that their side will manage to keep their performance going in the rest of the Premiership League.
Polokane City are currently 12th in the current PSL standings on 11 points, having won twice, drew five and lost four of their encounters.
The recent monthly PSL awards received by their top performing striker, Rodney Ramagalela, do not quite reflect the team’s overall position in the current PSL standings.
Ramagalela has thus far scored six goals from 10 matches.
Ramagalela has been awarded as the Absa Premiership Player of the Month (for October) and also received the Absa PSL Goal of the Month with his long-range strike against Mamelodi Sundowns on 22 August at Loftus Versfeld.
He is one of the strikers who is knocking hard on national coach Stuart Baxter’s door for a place in the national squad.
It might simply be a matter of time for the Rise and Shine 28-year-old striker to get a call-up for Bafana Bafana duty.
Polokwane City have two home games before travelling to Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to face Chippa United on 16 December for their last PSL encounter.
On 6 December, they will host Platinum Stars and on 9 December Rise and Shine will welcome the Clever Boys from Wits to the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.
