Malamulele to host boxing tournament
Well-known Malamulele boxing promoter, Prenorman Chabane will host a professional tournament on Friday at the Malamulele Boxing Gym.
LIMPOPO – According to him, the purpose of the tournament is to give young boxers a chance to fight in front of their fans here at home, as they usually fight in other parts of the country.
The purpose is also to give Limpopo people the opportunity to watch boxing as they usually need to watch it on television.
“Limpopo used to be called the home of boxing champions because of former champions such as Cassius Baloyi, Jefrey Mathebula, Isaac Hlatswayo and many others.
“Since, then, however, Limpopo has been quiet about boxing although we have champions who represent us at both national and international level,” said Chabane.
Karabo Mokopi said he was excited to fight in his home province and he indicated that this will give a chance to his family, friends and fans to watch him live.
