2-1 win for Leopards
Black Leopards were too strong when they beat Stellenbosch FC 2-1 in front of a filled-to-capacity crowd at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Premier Absa League match.

LIMPOPO – It was evident from the start that Leopards were going to the win as Stellenbosch were outclassed in all departments.
Leopards, however, opened their account first. In the 31th minute, their all-rounder, Mwape Musondo, was on target, scoring from a penalty shootout spot.

The team from Western Cape came close to scoring in the 34th minute, but they held onto the ball for too long within the Leopards’ danger area and eventually lost possession. The score at half time was a 1-0 in favour of Leopards.
Stellenbosch gained momentum with time. Their equaliser came in the 56th minute. Ryan Moon made no mistake after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Ovidy Karuru.
Leopards introduced, Lifa Hlungwane, Robert Ngambi and Thobani Mncwango for, Mwape Musonda, Tshwarelo Bereng and Mogakolodi Ngele in the second half. Stellenbosch initiated some promising moves from the centre of the pitch, but were denied a number of scoring opportunities by the solid defence of Leopards.
In the 85th minute, Leopards captain, Thabo Matlaba forced his way through the defence of Stellenbosch and scored an easy goal from close range to make the final score 2-1.
