Polokwane City sign Mozambican international
Polokwane City Football Club recently acquired the services of Mozambican international, Elias Pelembe.
The 37-year-old dribbling wizard boasts four Premier Soccer League titles, which he won with Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits and Super Sport United Football Club.
City’s Chief Operations Officer, Tincy Tema, said Pelembe’s experience will come in handy in their quest of returning to top-flight football.
“He is a quality player with loads of experience. He knows South African football and many players look up to him. We want to return to the Premier Soccer League and we believe he will help us in that regard.”
Pelembe is not only the captain of his country’s national team, but also an influential member and currently their top scorer between players that are still actively playing.
He is expected to be in the starting line-up when City play Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday, 10 March.
