Third dan for Eksteen karateka

Seasoned martial arts grandmaster and Henri Eksteen Fight Club founder Henri Eksteen has congratulated sensei Khensani Mashela.

POLOKWANE – Mashela received her third dan black belt at a ceremony at 10 in Polokwane on August 21.

Eksteen said he is proud of the strides made by Mashela over the years.

“She has been with me for 17 years and it is an absolute honour for me that she has proven herself beyond a shadow of a doubt, through many ups and downs. She came to me as a tiny tot when she was only six years years old, many many moons ago. Today, she is a mother, a businesswoman and my right hand. God bless her with many more years at the dojo.”

Eksteen stated that a karate association in Turkey recently issued him with an honorary doctorate in human rights for his 43 year devotion to karate.

He said the United States National Karate Organisation also gave him the title of ‘hatamoto’ which means ‘the bearer of the flag leading into battle’.
