Bodybuilding’s best to compete at Meropa championship

Meropa hosts the Limpopo Provincial Bodybuilding Championship, with competitors vying for a spot at the national event.

POLOKWANE – Meropa Casino and Entertainment World in partnership with the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) will host the Limpopo Provincial Bodybuilding Championship at its conference centre on July 13.

The championship will see male and female bodybuilders showing off months of health and fitness, hard work and dedication on their chiselled bodies.

Contestants will be judged on classic physique, classic bodybuilding and body fitness and the provincial winner will represent the province at the national event scheduled for Gauteng in August.

The IFBB holds competitions in various competitive sporting codes including men’s bodybuilding, men’s classic bodybuilding, men’s fitness, men’s physique, women’s physique, women’s body-fitness, women’s fitness, mixed pairs, children fitness and men’s wheelchair bodybuilding.

Local bodybuilder, Difaka Senatla said he is hoping to be selected for the provincial team.

“Bodybuilding is not a glorified or a well-known sporting code. It will be my first time competing in such a competition. I have been working hard in the gym for the past six months, preparing. I want to do well and go far in the sport. I am ready to take on the best bodybuilders in the province.”
