Polokwane hosts SAANC championships

The Federation of Dance Sports South Africa celebrates 30 years with SAANC Championships, featuring top athletes from 8 provinces.

POLOKWANE – The Federation of Dance Sports South Africa celebrated 30 years of progress, by hosting the South African Achievers and National Championships (SAANC) from October 4-5 at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex.

The event featured athletes from various provinces, including Gauteng, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape, North West, Eastern Cape, Free State, and Northern Cape.

Participants showcased their skills in several dance categories, including samba, cha-cha-cha, rumba, paso doble, and jive.

The championship provided athletes not only the opportunity to compete for top honours in their respective categories but also the chance to earn a spot representing South Africa at the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) World Championships.

Bonnie Xaba, the competition director for the Federation of Dance Sports South Africa, expressed her gratitude to spectators, coaches, and athletes.

β€œTo the coaches, thank you for the outstanding job and hard work you do behind the scenes; it does not go unnoticed. To our phenomenal athletes, your passion and skills shine in every step – keep pushing. Congratulations to all the winners, and best of luck to our representatives for 2025.”

The winners received medals and trophies for their achievements.
