Black Leopards, Kruger United share points in goalless draw

Black Leopards draw against Kruger United at Thohoyandou Stadium, despite dominating possession and creating multiple scoring opportunities.

LIMPOPO – Black Leopards fans were left disappointed as the team played to a goalless draw against Kruger United in their Motsepe Foundation Championship League clash at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

Leopards dominated the game from the first whistle, with their midfielders showing strong commitment by delivering precise passes to their forwards. However, despite creating early chances, the team struggled to convert opportunities into goals within the first 10 minutes.

Bethuel Mzeu had a prime chance in the 15th minute after a superb pass, but his shot missed the target. Mwape Musonda also missed several key opportunities, starting in the 17th minute when he broke through United’s defence but failed to capitalise. Moments later, he received a precise cross from Feddy Mathole but couldn’t finish, much to the disappointment of the crowd.

The first yellow card came in the 40th minute when United’s Sizwe Sithole was booked for obstructing Donald Makgwathlwa.

In the second half, United brought on Thabiso Mpane and Ononogbu Onyekadichi, Leopards’ intensity began to wane. Sensing the game slipping, United shifted to long-ball tactics, seemingly content with a draw.

Leopards nearly clinched victory in the 89th minute when Kamohelo Ngwane took a penalty shot, but United’s goalkeeper Smiso Ndlela made the save, sealing the goalless outcome.
