Limpopo dance duo retain SA Championship title

Ballroom dance partners Happy Ramano and Adelaide Hlungwani retain their championship title for the fourth consecutive year.

POLOKWANE – From competing at the prestigious WDC AL World Championships 2024 in Assen, Holland, to dominating the South African Championships 2024 held in KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend, ballroom dance partners Happy Ramano and Adelaide Hlungwani showcased excellence.

They retain their SA Championship title for the fourth consecutive year (2021–2024).

The dynamic duo was joined by their students from The HappyAdey Dance Academy, a dance school that they established in May 2023.

Among them were Molemo Moholane (22), a newly qualified optometrist from the University of Limpopo, and Hlungwani’s daughter, Akani (16).

Moholane defended his adult champ solo title for the second consecutive year, while Akani triumphed as the South African Solo Youth Latin champion for the first time.

The academy celebrated an incredible feat, with seven dancers earning South African national colours through the South African Dance Foundation (SADF).

This achievement qualifies them to represent the nation at the WDC AL World Championships 2025.

“We are immensely proud of our students and their remarkable achievements throughout the year,” said Ramano and Hlungwani.

They also extended heartfelt gratitude to their main sponsor, His Grace the Comforter of IPHC, Tshepiso Samuel Njela Modise, for supporting their international endeavours. “We are honoured and humbled by your support,” they added.
