Learners from Stanford Lake College have been chosen for different Limpopo teams.

POLOKWANE – Learners from Stanford Lake College have been chosen for different Limpopo teams.

These include the Limpopo biathlon team, which combines cross-country running with rifle shooting, the Limpopo swimming team and the Limpopo squash team.

The teams will take part in competitions later this year.

Five learners from each province will then be selected for the national team and take part in a national event that will be held in Potshefstroom on April 4 and 5. Reese Bain (gr. 8) and Anke Vaughan (gr. 9) from Stanford Lake College were chosen for the Limpopo biathlon team.

The Limpopo team will represent the province in the South African Country District championship in Bloemfontein on May 1 to 4 to be chosen for the South African rural district team that will be playing to qualify to compete against the bigger provincial teams.

Reese Bain (gr. 8), Graeme Harty (gr. 10) and Marc Stirling (gr. 9) were chosen.

“Good luck and congratulations to the learners who made the Limpopo teams. We look forward to seeing what your futures hold in the different sporting events,” said Rona McGaffin, Stanford Lake marketer.
