A combo of sport under one roof
In celebration of the opening of their combo sport centre, Nirvana Primary School held a netball and volleyball tournament on Friday.
POLOKWANE – In celebration of the opening of their combo sport centre, Nirvana Primary School held a netball and volleyball tournament on Friday.
Good Hope Primary School and Luthuli Primary School were invited to the tournament.
In netball, Luthuli beat Good Hope 3-1 and in the final, Nirvana beat Luthuli 6-1.
In the volleyball, Good Hope beat Luthuli 21-15 and in the final, Good Hope beat Nirvana 15-5.
The MEC for sport, arts and culture, Merriam Ramadwa, Stephen Mpe from the department of education, the Nirvana principal, Thokozane Mhlongo and the chairperson of the School Governing Body, Titus Setlau officially opened the combo sport centre at the school.
Ramandwa said exercise was good for the body, mind and soul and that she was proud to be part of the opening of the combo sports centre.
To show their support, the department of sport, arts and culture donated the following to Nirvana Primary School:
• 10 rugby balls.
• 10 soccer balls.
• Five volleyball balls.
• Five contact shields.
• Six gym mats.
• Six stop watches.
• A first aid kit.
• Five short puts.
• Three chess boards.
• Five pumps.
• 10 netball balls.
