POLOKWANE – Four Limpopo schools will compete for the Limpopo T20 u/19 title at the Polokwane Cricket Club on Saturday.

Merensky High School and Ben Vorster High School, winners of the Tzaneen region, will compete against the winners of the Polokwane region, Hoërskool Pietersburg and Stanford Lake College, for the top spot in the province.

In its fourth year, the tournament is presented by Limpopo Impala Cricket, Coca-Cola Fortune and Nguni Grill.

During the lunch break, Limpopo Impala Cricket will formally present two new staff members to Limpopo’s cricket fans.

There will also be an exciting mini-cricket game between the Limpopo Impala Cricket senior women’s team and the Pepps College cricketers.

Lucky Mhlongo, the tournament coordinator, says the objective of the tournament is to develop cricket in the province.

He says there are 16 schools that participate in the tournament.

“We urge people from Polokwane and surrounding areas to enjoy this event with us,” says Mhlongo.

“Bring your braai stands and cooler boxes and enjoy the festive atmosphere with us,” he says.
