Rugby players show their mettle at 7’S tournament
Capricorn High School hosted a 7's rugby tournament last Saturday.
POLOKWANE – Teams from Capricorn, Westenburg High School, Curro Northern Academy, Mamarama High School and Kings Court participated in the exciting tournament which saw players rise to the occasion in every game.
There were nine teams competing in the tournament and they were grouped in two sections.
The first group took part in the Shield Cup and the second group took part in the Cup Final.
The results of the Shield Cup:
• Northern Academy A beat Capricorn High School.
• Northern Academy B beat Mamarama High School
The two Northern Academy teams took each other on in the final which saw the A team winning the Shield Cup title.
The results of the Cup Final:
• Capricorn High School beat Westenburg High School.
• King’s Court beat Mamarama A.
Capricorn High School and King’s Court took each other on in the final and Capricorn proved to be the stronger team.
Nyiko Makamo was named the Most Valuable Player with Melo Mahapa named Player of the Tournament as he scored the most tries.
