POLOKWANE – The Mongolian Dream Circus is in the city once again, putting smiles on residents’ faces with the entertaining show. The circus started on and will be in the city until August 3.
It incorporates splendour, innovation, and most of all, the excitement and entertainment that can only be created by some of the greatest circus performers during a two-hour show.
This circus ensemble includes International Circus Star Award winner, Batmunkh Khorloo doing a strong man act and Best Clown in the World award winner, Bascaar the Clown (Oyntuya Tsedendorj).
“As professional performers both locally and internationally for more than 25 years, Mongolian Dream Circus has the advantage of understanding the entertainment business from both the spectator and the performers’ perspective, enabling us to offer you a world class service featuring acrobats, animal acts and lots more performed by international Mongolian and Kenyan artistes,” says Khorloo.
The show is made up of:
• Traditional circus of Mongolia, combination national music, national dressing, dancing, acting, contortion, strong man, acrobatics and juggling.
“I have loved going to the circus since I was a child. It has an element of magic and I bring my children to the circus whenever they are in town. It is great fun for the whole family and I think that I sometimes enjoy it more than the children,” says Julia Maponya, a resident.
The circus was formed at the Circus School in Ullaanbaatar, Mongolia in 1987 until 1991. In 1991, they finished circus school and the artists acquired professional diplomas in various acts. They started working for the Mongolian state circus until 1996, after which they performed in European countries: Hungary, Portugal, France, China and Italy, where they won best circus star award.
During 1996 they came to South Africa to perform in the Boswell Wilkie Circus, Brian Boswell Circus and Gold Reef City until 1998, after which the Mongolian Dream Circus was formed in South Africa.
