EXCITEMENT is reaching a fever pitch at BB Polokwane Nissan with the local launch of a range of their three new models.
The all new Nissan Qashqai was already launched in South Africa in July.
Following hot on the heels of the Qashqai is the new Nissan X-Trail. This will be followed with the launch and re-establishment of the Datsun brand with the new Datsun GO model-line up.
The new X-Trail has moved away from the square body shape design that defined the previous model. Aerodynamically and technologically, the new X-Trail seems to be light years ahead of the previous model, and Nissan is very optimistic that the new X-Trail will not only live up to the expectations of the X-Trail brand, but even improve on its popularity.
The new Nissan X-Trail will be available in an eight-model range line-up, including two-and four-wheel drivetrains, with five or seven seats and driven by either petrol or diesel engines, as well as manual or Xtronic CVT transmissions options.
Headlining the engine line-up, four new X-Trail derivatives in XE, SE and LE specification are available with an all-new 1,6-litre direct-injection turbocharged diesel engine, which produces 96kW at 4 000rpm and 320Nm of torque at 1 750rpm.
The two X-Trail 2.5 SE derivatives are available exclusively with Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), four-wheel drive and either five or seven seats. Power from this normally-aspirated multi-point injection petrol engine is 126kW at 6 000rpm with a torque range of 233Nm peaking at 4 000rpm.
The range is rounded off by two entry-level 2.0 XE models, each powered by a 2.0-litre direct injection normally aspirated petrol engine which produces 106kW at 6 000rpm and 200Nm at 4 400rpm. The 2.0-litre derivatives are available with either five or seven seats, and exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The Nissan X-Trail models come standard with a six-year or 150 000km warranty and a five-year or 90 000km service plan, which includes roadside assistance as standard.
