How old are you and where are you from?

I am 24 years of old and I am from Seshego.

How did you get into DJing?

My work was only based in the production of house music, but to sell your brand, you have to show your face to the fans and that’s how I got to be a DJ.

What equipment did you have when you started?

Only a laptop, studio software and headphones.

How would you describe your music or sound to those who are not familiar with it?

My music is versatile because I normally don’t stick to one genre, there was a point whereby I could do afro-beats while it was dominant, so now seasons have changed and I did the same by changing the style of my music.

Describe your music library.

It’s a mixture, I don’t categorise, I listen to every type of music from neo soul, jazz, RnB, hip hop to house.

Do you ever get nervous before you go on stage?

All the time.

What is the greatest gig that you’ve played?

It has to be Electropica Les in St Denis Island. The way they appreciate the music is just too amazing, every song you feel like playing they go crazy and wild for it.

When did you know this is something you wanted to do professionally?

Back in 2008, I was more into hip hop, my friends are the ones who persuaded me to produce house music as they were loyal fans and they saw potential in me. I gave it a try and I fell in love with it.

There are plenty of women who throw themselves at DJs, how do you manage this?

I try to be humble, so when something like this happens I only take a picture with them.

What words of encouragement do you have for aspiring DJs and producers?

Don’t stop believing in everything you do, always focus on the work in hand and always deliver good music to your followers to sustain your brand.

What do you love the most about deejaying?

What I love the most about deejaying is travelling and meeting different people and different cultures. In a way, it’s a learning curve for me.

What would you say makes you a good DJ?

There are a lot of good DJs out there, but I’m unique because my music makes a huge difference.

Your advice to aspirant DJs?

Don’t become a DJ for the fame. Love what you do and have passion and determination.
