Poetry and lyrics that influences others

RAPPER and poet, Noko "Psychotic" Rammutla (27) from Westenburg says he wants to be famous in his neighbourhood.

POLOKWANE – RAPPER and poet, Noko “Psychotic” Rammutla (27) from Westenburg says he wants to be famous in his neighbourhood.

He says he fell in love with rap music and his goal is to make a living from music and pave the way for young people, assuring them that dreams are attainable against all odds.

“I started rapping in my early teens and have never looked back. After many attempts at joining several rap groups, I decided to pursue music as a solo artist,” says Psychotic.

He says he looks up to lyricists such as Proverb and Tumi from the Volume.

Psychotic is the founder of a movement called Self Marketing Schemes with Edward “LKD” Maebela and Hlogi “Venom” Matji, and they perform at schools and church functions.

He says he has worked hard to craft his poetry and rap and will launch a hip hop album on May 2.

“The title of the album is Reality Check. It was motivated by reality as it is. I speak about the struggles I’ve faced, the bad choices I made, the effects of those choices, crime and drug abuse, relationships and disloyalty and other forms of social discord people experience daily,” he says.

He says he is exited to finally share his music with the fans.

“I am done with being a superstar, I now make music with the intention to influence and bring positive change into people’s lives.”

He admits that his greatest challenge is to satisfy fans without compromising.

“I am concerned about keeping my fans happy and attracting new ones. I don’t want to disappoint them.”
