POLOKWANE – BREAK winter’s ice with soul-warming comedy by one of South Africa’s most recognisable and pioneering black comedians, Kagiso Lediga. The outrageous funnyman hits the stage at Sun Meropa Casino’s Jembe Tavern for one night only on Friday, July 3.

For over 15 years, this multi-talented comedian has entertained audiences live, on the small screen, on the big screen and now from behind the screen producing some of the most groundbreaking comedy content this country has ever seen. He is a natural storyteller with a comedy style that blends schoolboy charm with creative genius, sharp intelligence and wit.
His talent and abilities are demonstrated by numerous achievements and accolades. Over the years, he has graced the stages of all the biggest comedy events in South Africa, including the prestigious Cape Town International Comedy Festival, where he won the People’s Choice Award in the company of acclaimed comedians from all over the world.
Sought-after both in South Africa and abroad, he has entertained comedy fans in the US, Scotland, England, Canada, Finland, Jamaica, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana and Mauritius.
He has a flair for writing, producing and directing brave and entertaining content. After producing the Pure Monate Show, Lediga together with co-executive producer Loyiso Gola put together the satirical news show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola on eTV and the eNews channel.
He has also acted in numerous movies including Bunny Chow, which became a cult classic due to its honest depiction of the new South Africa. It went on to be screened at the Toronto Film Festival, American Film Institute Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Melbourne Film Festival and Rotterdam Film Festival. He was also cast in various roles in local movies such as Crazy Monkey, Footskating, Big Fellas and the acclaimed Hollywood director, Phillip Noyce’s Max and Martha in which he acted alongside Oscar winning actress, Hilary Swank.
