LIMPOPO – THE final nominees of the 2015 Tshivenda Music Awards (Tshima) will be announced at Joe Matsila Guest House near Elim on Saturday evening.
This year’s categories:
• Best Tshivenda newcomer of the year.
• Hit single of the year.
• Best gospel artist or group.
• Best reggae artist or group.
• Best afro-soul or contemporary artist or group.
• Best hip hop.
• Best tshingondo.
• Song of the year.
• Best traditional artist or group.
• Best dance artist or album.
• Female artist of the year.
• Male artist of the year.
Tshima is a strategic platform designed to recorgnise, promote and reward local artists who pride themselves by singing in the TshiVenda indigenous language while preserving the rich heritage and cultural diversity of the Vha-Venda people.
The organiser, Augustine Nethononda, said Tshima was a strategic intervention positioned to entrench social cohesion and nation-building.
“Since its inception in 2012, Tshima attracts people from all walks of life, local and national music industry representatives, artists, producers, private sector, government, academics and stakeholders.
“Propelled with the financial injection from the National Lotteries Board in partnership with the Matsila Community Development Trust and Rodibrite, this yerar’s event promises to be at its best,” said Nethononda.
