Bikers let their hair down at rally

Over 200 bikers from 30 clubs attended the third Limpopo Biker Council (LBC) family day rally weekend at the Soetdorings Country Club over the weekend.

POLOKWANE – Over 200 bikers from 30 clubs attended the third Limpopo Biker Council (LBC) family day rally weekend at the Soetdorings Country Club over the weekend.

Wilma Prinsloo of LBC said the main objective of LBC was to promote, foster and encourage the participation of as many LBC members in any LBC sanctioned event and to prevent possible clashing of dates of LBC sanctioned events.

“It is the vision of LBC to unite all motorbike clubs in Limpopo to be part of the brotherhood irrespective of race, colour, creed, gender or religion on a non-political basis,” Prinsloo said.

The LBC upholds the following values: to respect the rights, dignity and opinion of others, to promote the image of motorbike riders in general and not to bring them into disrepute and to be loyal to the clubs that are members of the LBC.

Music, games, stalls and live entertainment were part of the programme planned for the day.

There were also games and with lost of prizes to be won.

The oldest biker who arrived on his own bike was Noah Botha at the ripe age of 74. The prize for the biker travelling the furthest to attend the rally went to Alan Russell from Ulysses in Johannesburg.

Dries Viljoen (Roadhogs Messina) won the prize for the concourse prettiest bike with his Suzuki Boulevard. The best stock bike was won by a maroon BMW 1600GT.

Bokdrol-spoeg (buck dung spitting) was won by Nakkie van der Schyff and Nico Kellerman, both private riders. Sarina Smit (Ghost Riders Limpopo) and Hendrick Schoeman (private rider) took home the prize for the broomstick race.

Inge Adendorff (private rider) and Brenden Ballabio (Old School MF) won the tyre throw.

Carla Smit (Ghost Riders Limpopo) and Pottie Potgieter (Passion for Christ) won in the kettie-skiet category. Brendon Ballabio (Old School MF) was crowned the championships title in the slow race.

Women from the Knight Watchmen and the men from Old School MF won the tug of war.

The rally concluded on Sunday with a church service at the Soetdorings Country Club led by pastor André de Beer, along with praise and worship with Clive Bruce.
