Polokwane treated to 1st ever Juba concert

The band swept the audience off its feet and left them wanting more after a few songs.

POLOKWANE – Music fans and Limpopo Toyota Polokwane customers were treated to the first ever Juba concert which was held at the Limpopo Toyota outlet on Saturday evening.

The band swept the audience off its feet and left them wanting more after a few songs.

According to Marthinus Beukes, Lexus Polokwane Sales Manager, the concert was from the community to the community.

“This is our way of giving back to our customers. We wanted to say thank you for their continued support. This was just the first concert, we plan to host at least two concerts a year to keep the Limpopo Toyota Polokwane family together,” said Beukes.

He added that guests were requested to decorate their own tables after which the best table won a prize.

Guests had the opportunity to display products available for sale at their respective companies.

The band

Juba is an Afrikaans contemporary band from Modimolle. Martiens Joubert, one of the artists said the band was established in 2010 with the aim to let people enjoy great music with sensible lyrics.

They have released two albums so far, Skop uit jou skoene and As ek eendag ophou droom. Joubert also said they were honoured to perform at Limpopo Toyota Polokwane.

“I write the lyrics for the band and we are very passionate about music. We want to tell a story through music while people have a great time listening to the rhythms. We are proud to be part of the Limpopo Toyota Polokwane family,” explained Joubert.

Their albums are available in stores and download online.

“Limpopo Toyota Polokwane believes in Juba and we want to thank them for sponsoring the band with a Toyota Hilux Legend 45 double cab.

“We promise not to disappoint our fans and Toyota,” said Joubert.
