[ICYMI] Trevor Noah wins ‘Best Host’ at MTV Movie and TV Awards

Trevor Noah beat the like of Ellen DeGeneres and RuPaul to bag the award.

POLOKWANE – Trevor Noah continued to fly the South African flag high on Sunday evening (7 May) when he was named the best host during the 2017 MTV Movie And TV Awards for his work on The Daily Show.

After accepting the popcorn trophy, Noah paid tribute to his mother, saying “There’s one person who I aspire to be every day and that is my mom, a powerful, strong, black woman who never listened when people told her she couldn’t be more.”

After accepting the award, Noah posed with Americn rapper Snoop Dogg and Chef, Martha Stewart.

This was the second award that Noah received over the weekend, picking up a GLAAD award for Outstanding Talk Show Episode on Saturday, 6 May.

GLAAD is a LGBT Media Advocacy Organization and every year, they have an award ceremony to honour important figures in the LGBTIQA community.
