A Blouberg adventure awaits at the mountain bike family event
The Friends of Blouberg invite readers to the Mountain Bike Family Fun Adventure on 12 to 14 July - a weekend filled with mountain biking, animal sightings, rest and relaxation.
POLOKWANE – The Friends of Blouberg are a group of people who have taken in on themselves to care for and conserve the Blouberg Nature Reserve.
Every year the group raise money for the upkeep of the reserve. This year they invite readers to the Mountain Bike Family Fun Adventure on 12 to 14 July – a weekend filled with mountain biking, animal sightings, rest and relaxation.

The event is open to families and there is no need to be an avid mountain biker to participate.
The weekend itinerary is a follows:
On Friday, 12 July, participants can start arriving at 12:00 and registrations will open open until 18:00. At 18:00 there will be an information session and then it is time for dinner around the campfire.
Saturday starts of with breakfast from 07:00 to 08:30 and at 09:00 the 40km route cyclist will start their route. There will be a lunch break on the route where there will be served cold, fresh orange juice.
At 19:00 dinner will be served and everyone can look forward to a lamb on the spit and side dishes.
On Sunday breakfast will be served between 08:00 and 09:00 and then, directly at 09:00 the 7km or 25km route cyclist can start their trip through the reserve.
What you need to know:
The package includes a tent for two with mattresses in a rustic Blouberg Nature Reserve Camp, five meals and first class ablution with hot showers.
There will be support vehicles and a medical doctor on standby as well as group insurance coverage by CSA.
Entrance to the Blouberg Nature Reserve gate will be free.
All trails are gravel road, game trails and farm tracks through the bush with challenging single track sections. Game conservation staff will be on the route where wildlife might possible cross paths with cyclist.
There are various packages available. All the profit will go towards the nature conservation at Blouberg Nature Reserve.
