Thabo explained that the first impression you make on a person is what will determine how they relate to you moving forward. “The unfortunate reality is that people will judge you just by looking at you, even before you open your mouth. This is why it is important for your image to make the right statement,” he said. The first step in developing an impeccable style is self-confidence. Self-confidence can make a person look good in almost anything they wear, although it does not excuse looking shabby.

Wear clothes that are the right fit. If you go for a formal look, get a form-fitting suit. Being young also means you can get away with playing around with formal clothing, so as to not make it look too stuffy and serious. “You can also play around with the patterns and colours, but I would recommend a solid black or navy suit because you can play around with it by mixing and matching it,” he added.
For a casual look, go for clothes that are interchangeable. Have a couple of white T-shirts that you know you can wear with all the jeans in your closet. Have a pair of dark jeans that you can play around different shirts with. This will make it look like you have more clothes than you actually do. Invest in a good pair of shoes. Do away with constantly wearing sneakers and running shoes. “Have a pair of shoes that you will wear for formal occasions, because the suit and sneakers look is getting outdated,” he explained. Remember to always match your belt with your shoes.
Take good care of your clothes. Hang the things that belong on a hanger and neatly pack away shoes. This does not only create an orderly space, but also ensures that your clothes last longer because they are well maintained. “Don’t iron if the instructions say you shouldn’t.
Dry clean what needs to be dry cleaned. Instructions are not for decorative purposes, they help you get the most out of your clothes,” he concluded.
