To comply with Covid-19 regulations, the city’s annual Oktoberfest which was hosted by the Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 and the local German community on Saturday at Bolivia Lodge, permitted only 250 individuals to attend.
Guests enjoyed live music by the popular Velvet Sounds Traditional German Oompah Band, which ensured an evening of great entertainment. The group features traditional music, whether it is an inspiring tune or a commitment to write music from the heart.
The band members have embraced these traditions while establishing a few of their own songs since joining forces back in 2000.
The group members have found their signature sound and offer something different and unique to their fans by creating and sharing an original style of German music.
Everyone at the event enjoyed delicious food including schweinenbraten, sauerkraut, kartoffelsalat and a green salad which completed the buffet menu.
A variety of beers as well as a gin bar was available and a craft beer stall catered for those with a special and unique taste.
The Oktoberfest was arranged due to popular demand, and the turnout did not disappoint.
The proceeds of the event will be donated to various charities.
