The countdown to the hottest modelling competition of the year has begun as Mall of the North (MoN) readies the runway for the 2018 Limpopo Face of Fashion extravaganza presented by Ace Models Limpopo and the first of its kind in the province.
Featuring guest speakers, celebrity judges, live entertainment and this year’s talented finalists, MoN invites shoppers to experience it all as Limpopo’s newest top models are crowned in style.
First up on the calendar is the glittering Limpopo Face of Fashion Pre-Party taking place at Coricraft, MoN tomorrow night (Friday) at 19:00. “As a warm-up to the grand finale guests can enjoy a taste of high fashion and the chance to rub shoulders with the country’s most beautiful people,” says Ace Models Limpopo owner, Jacqueline Ferns.
Among the many highlights of the evening will be guest speaker, former Mrs South Africa, founder and CEO of Ace Models and current CEO of Mrs South Africa, Joani Johnson. Popular local band Straight Ahead will be on hand to provide the very best live entertainment where wine and light snacks will be served as the cherry on top of a fabulous night out.
Not only is Saturday the first day of spring but also the perfect opportunity to be there for the moment when one lucky guy and girl will walk away with the 2018 Limpopo Face of Fashion title, a world-class modelling contract, plus over R100 000 in prizes in the Grand Finale.
A night to remember is guaranteed as MC and celebrated comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout sets the stage at the MoN Ster-Kinekor Cinema 4 from 18:30 onwards where he will be joined by noted celebrity judges Joani Johnson, CEO of Ice Models Steffi Rinaldi, social media influencer, qualified make-up artist, Ice Models model Lisa Madiba and with two other surprise judges, as model hopefuls strut their stuff on the catwalk. Shoppers will also be treated to wine and a selection of delicious light snacks while being thoroughly entertained by Johannesburg-based band Go the Rodeo.
“We are so excited to host the most stylish modelling competition of 2018,” says MoN General Manager, Sumari de Ridder.
“As MoN is home to the trendiest local and international fashion brands we’re delighted to share that passion and provide a platform for aspiring models to kick-start their careers. We can’t wait to see all our fashionista shoppers on Friday and Saturday,” she adds.
De Ridder and Ferns thanked all the sponsors who have come on board. These include Ice Model Management, Polokwane Observer, Limpopo Toyota, Loolness, photographer Natalie Loots, Icon, Visionworks, Sorbet, Woolworths, Miladys, Foschini, Panarottis, Ocean Basket, Coricraft, Debbie Mouton Jewellers, Lu Bag, Markham, Custom Effects, Sugar and Spice Function and Décor Hire, Jetline and Park Inn by Radisson Polokwane.
