Miss Limpopo and Miss Limpopo Teen 2017 were crowned during the pageant final on Saturday evening. Shalati Masia was crowned Miss Limpopo 2017 while Lesego Matheba accepted the sash and crown as Miss Limpopo Teen 2017.
The prestigious event was hosted at Meropa Casino & Entertainment World where finalists dazzled guests and the judges in swimwear, own creations and evening dresses, choreographed perfectly by Miss Limpopo Trustee, Sharon Stander.
The judges had their work cut out for them when each of the 20 finalists in the 2017 Miss Limpopo/Miss Limpopo Teen pageant put their best foot forward to show why they deserve to win the coveted title.
Miss Limpopo First Princess Paseka Khoza was also named Miss Public Choice with Naledi Kgosana named Second Princess. Miss Congeniality for this category was Lerato Sehlake and Kashini Govender was named Miss Photogenic.
When it came to the young beauties the competition was just as tough. The First Princess for Miss Limpopo Teen is Kabelo Lekgoathi and Tshegofatso Mogashoa was crowned Second Princess. Tlou Dinyake was named Miss Public Choice, Lesego Matheba Miss Photogenic and Katlego Seleka Miss Congeniality.
Stander explained that boot camps held over a period of four weekends prepared the contestants for their journey as finalists and for their future endeavours. She thanked the event sponsors Meropa Casino & Entertainment World, Review Litho Printers, Hayani Guest House, PricewaterhouseCoopers, MMP Security, iCollege, House of Asante Spa, Asante health and Skincare Institute and print media sponsor Polokwane Observer for their contribution and assistance to make this event a success.
Businessperson Jeanri Wepener and former Miss Limpopo Mosiah Tau shared the stage as masters of ceremonies for the event. Entertainment by Jama Ballroom Dancing was a highlight of the evening and gave the contestants time to change their outfits.

The judging panel consisted of Annel Joubert, Miss Limpopo Trustee Member, Allen Chapingidza, Analyst at FNB Limpopo, Alta Viljoen from AV Make-up Artistry, Bakkies van Vuuren, Director at South African Championships for the Performing Arts and Marcel Baloyi, local businessperson.
The contestants were dressed in their eveningwear by Amanda G Haute Couture and Mengouchi Haute Couture.
Ntsetselelo Mkansi, Miss Limpopo 2016, stated that her journey as Miss Limpopo was a blessing and many life lessons was learned, one of them being that you don’t need to wait till you feel you are perfect to go after your dreams. She reminded the contestants that one has to know from the start that you are Miss Limpopo and carry yourself accordingly.
Chairperson of Miss Limpopo Trust, Matlakala Bopape said that she believed the competition was a huge success and that the girls worked very hard to achieve their goals.
She further congratulated Miss Limpopo and Miss Limpopo Teen and wished them the best of luck.
