Unathi treats residents to a night of great music

Music lovers in Polokwane flocked to Sun Meropa’s Jembe Tavern on Friday for a night of great music with famous singer, South African Idols judge and businesswoman Unathi Msengana.
It was learnt that tickets for the concert which attracted 400 people, had sold out. The early birds filled the venue to capacity while others gathered at the door requesting access to the venue and some even volunteering to pay more for tickets. Unathi set the stage alight with her performance as she sang songs from her latest album ‘Brave, True and Strong’. Her voice accompanied by breath-taking melodies from her band had the crowd dancing and singing in no time. The concert, reportedly part of a whirlwind musical tour, celebrates women who have fought through adversity and have come out victorious.
Sun Meropa Public Relations and Promotions Manager, Raksha Gunpath indicated that this was the first time Unathi had performed in Polokwane and she was delighted that customers got value for money. She confirmed that the event had been sold out and said the fact that so many people were at the door requesting to go in was proof that Limpopo residents like Unathi, and that they will host such concerts in a bigger venue in the future.
Unathi could not hide her excitement when she said she was not expecting to perform in front of a large crowd and thanked attendees for supporting the concert. She said she would visit the province more often to entertain her fans. CDs of her latest album, which she described as joyful, emotional and a breath of fresh air – a culmination of everything happening in her life, were on sale at the venue.
