Victory Taekwondo Family Centre students proudly represented South Africa at the ATA World Championships held in Phoenix, Arizona, during July, returning home with an impressive collection of medals.

The championships featured about 4 436 of the world’s top competitors. The standout performance came from Gerhard Claassens, who was crowned world champion in extreme form during the prestigious Tournament of Champions.

In the Super 20 Championships, Master JP Vorster earned third place in combat sparring, while Sasha-Lee Vorster secured third place in combat sparring and second place in sparring.

Morgan Blake claimed third place in forms, and Madeleine van Wyk delivered an outstanding all-round performance, taking second place in forms, third place in weapon form, and second place in combat sparring.

Adding to the club’s success, Conrad Koortzen captured first place in sparring, making him a Super 20 champion in his division.

The achievements highlight the high standard of training at Victory Taekwondo Family Centre and mark a proud moment for both the club and South African taekwondo on the international stage.
