Young squad from Leandra gains valuable experience against older opposition
I-Promise Football School may have suffered a 5–1 defeat to Siwelele MDC FC at Megawatt Park in Midrand on July 18, but coach Godfrey Mosoetsa Siwelele believes the match gave his younger players valuable exposure and important experience against older, stronger opposition.
I-Promise Football School faced a tough challenge when they took on Siwelele MDC FC at Megawatt Park in Midrand on July 18, going down 5-1 in an entertaining encounter.
Despite the defeat, coach Godfrey Mosoetsa Siwelele remained positive about the team’s performance.
The I-Promise squad consisted of younger players competing against opponents who were about three years older, making the fixture a valuable learning experience.
“The game provided the players with tremendous exposure and helped them gain experience against stronger and more physically developed opposition,” said Mosoetsa.
He added that the encounter contributed positively to the team’s growth and development and would help prepare the players for future competitions.
I-Promise Football School will next be in action at a pre-season tournament at Laerskool Leandra on August 15 from 09:00.
The team is scheduled to face Durban City FC, Siwelele FC and Kruger United FC. Supporters are welcome.
