Osizweni Combined School wants an 80 per cent Grade 12 pass rate

Osizweni Combined School held a winter camp for 10 days.

EVANDER – The Osizweni Combined School aims at obtaining 80 per cent in this year’s Grade12 results.

In achieving this they held a winter camp for 10 days.

They wanted to prepare pupils for their final exams.

Mr Teboho Letsela, project manager, said this camp was also aimed at drawing pupils out of the everyday, overcommitted and ever-changing lifestyle.

“It also helped us to finish the syllabus so that we will have enough time to review and revise for the final exams.

“We are targeting an 80 per cent pass rate this year and this camp was one of our strategies in making sure that our goal is fulfilled.

“We thank the principal, the school governing body, the parents, pupils and the teachers who sacrificed their time to better the results of our pupils.

“I am looking forward to the end of the year results, because we will make the school and parents proud.”

Vuyelwa Dike, a pupil, said the camp benefited her and other matriculants.

“It was tough at the beginning, because we had to adjust to stay and share things with people you hardly know.

“The weather was cold and we had to endure the long line for hot water, however the camp will surely improve our results.

“We learnt a lot and our teacher made sure that everybody understands what was discussed and those who need special attention, got that.

“We promise our parents and teachers that the class of 2014 will obtain the best results ever.”
