The following cases were reported at Sakhile Police Station during December.

• Assault common – 10
• Business robbery – two
• Robbery – two
• Rape – one
• Murder – two
• Housebreaking – 10
• Theft – five
According to the police alcohol is the major contributing factor in the increased number of gender-based violence cases.
They also said thieves break into people’s homes when there is nobody there.
The Community Policing Forum (CPF) managed to apprehend some of the thieves responsible for the housebreaking in Sakhile.
The police requested the community to come forward if they have information that can lead to more arrests.
They also urged residents to report illegal activities.
