eMBALENHLE – Local businessman and owner of eMbalenhle Butchery donated a school hall and a kitchen to the eMbalehle Primary School.
Mr Thami Skhosana and his family handed over the property to the school on Friday, 20 February.
He said the project began when he visited the school in 2013 on Mandela Day.
“I noticed that the feeding scheme women were cooking and preparing the meals for the pupils outside and it was cold and windy.
“The pupils were queuing in the cold to get the food.
“I asked my colleagues and family to help build a hall and the kitchen for the school.
“They fortunately agreed and God provided for us.”
Pupils, teachers and parents praised Mr Skhosana for the gesture.
Ms Thwala, Highveld East Circuit manager, thanked him for his generosity and said the Department of Education needs people like him who are willing to partner with the government in changing pupils’ lives and investing in education.
Mr Tolotsane Moekoa, principal, said the school will keep it in a good condition.
“It will last for decades and will help generations to come.
“Thank you, Mr Sikhosana, for the gift to the community”
