eMba woman arrested for stealing groceries at accident

She appeared in court and was granted bail.

eMBALENHLE – A women was arrested for looting at an accident scene on Tuesday, 14 April.

This 31-year-old woman was stealing groceries that fell from the truck that was involved in the accident.

When the police reprimanded her, she apparently insulted the officers.

She was arrested on spot and is facing a charge of theft, obstruction of justice and crimen injuria.

She appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on 15 April and was released on bail.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said this behaviour cannot be tolerated and people committing such crimes will be prosecuted.
