Secunda Police raid Highveld Park High School, no drugs found on pupils

The aim is to make schools drug-free zone.

SECUNDA – Police arrived early this morning at Highveld Park High School with narcotic dog handlers from Middelburg and Standerton to conduct a random search of pupils, classes and the school yard.

The raid was led by Lt Nancy Ntuli of the K9 Unit in Secunda and members of the police worked hand in hand with teachers and the pupils.

“Our aim is to make schools drug-free zones and to discourage pupils from abusing drugs,” said Lt Ntuli.

The police were informed that people suspected of selling drugs at local schools.

The police confiscated dagga rolls and cigarettes between the boys and girls’ ablution facilities, but none on pupils.
