Businessmen allege electricity bills are higher

Local businessmen allege their electricity bills are higher since the Lekwa Municipality installed smart meters.

The municipality lost a lot of money due to illegal connections and aims to install these meters in every household in Lekwa.

According to Mr Sipho Mkwanazi. municipal spokesman, some people were billed incorrectly before the installation of the meters.

“After receiving the bill, they should come to the municipality to make an arrangement on how they will pay back the money.”
