Khulisa hosts women seminar
We promote a spirit of entrepreneurship in all facets of our work.
LEANDRA – Khulisa Social Solutions organised a women’ seminar that was aimed at helping women find solutions to daily challenges.
The event was organised in partnership with the Govan Mbeki Municipality, government departments, the police and local organisations.
Various topics were discussed by professionals and women raised the issues that they face in the community.
The Khulisa social worker, Mr Ronal Mukwangwariwa, said their organisation co-ordinates and facilitates projects that target poverty alleviation, early childhood development, crime reduction, victim empowerment and enterprise development.
“We implement diversion programmes to steer the youth away from violence and crime and toward community development.
“We promote a spirit of entrepreneurship in all facets of our work,” said Mr Mukwangwariwa.
One of the attendees said the seminar helped, because at times she feels as though she is experiencing worse problems than anybody else, but when they were busy discussing issues in groups, she realised there are other people whose problems are worse.
At the end of the seminar, Khulisa acknowledged all their local sponsors and Sasol for the refreshments.
