He said they said the tree was not supposed to be there.

As the country celebrated National Arbor Week from 1 to 7 September, trees were planted in various locations, but one was cut off.

A large part of a giant tree was cut off in Stefina Street in Meyerville.

According to the owner of the residence, where the tree is located, Lekwa municipal employees removed the branches, leaving only the trunk.

He said they said the tree was not supposed to be there which displeased some residents.

A municipal employee said he will follow-up on the matter because he was not sure what happened.
