Mayor to launch Operation Vuka Sisebente

The Govan Mbeki Municipality invites stakeholders to the launch of Operation Vuka Sisebente.

SECUNDA – Ms Lindi Masina, executive mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality, will launch Operation Vuka Sisebente from 10am on Thursday, 12 November at the Council Chamber.

The municipality will adopt a “war room” approach originally pioneered in KwaZulu-Natal that is aimed at bringing together representatives from various government departments to improve service delivery in all municipal wards.

Ms Masina invited the following stakeholders:

* Ward and PR councillors

* Community development workers

* Ward committee members

* Government departments within Govan Mbeki Municipality

* Religious leaders

* Traditional leaders

* Traditional healers

* Non-governmental organisation and non-profit organisations

* Local businesses

* Taxi associations

* Community Policing Forums
