Residents get title deeds

The handing over of title deeds will be rolled out to other towns in the area.

eMZINONI – Ms Lindi Masina, executive mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality, members of the Mayoral Committee and councillors accompanied by municipal officials handed over title deeds to residents in the Raymond Mavuso Community Hall on Friday, 20 November.

This was part of the municipality’s commitment to improved service delivery.

A title deed is a legal document that officially proves or indicates the rightful owner of a piece of land or property in a given area.

Ms Masina said the title deeds will offer a sense of pride and of belonging to beneficiaries in the community.

“May this be the beginning of a meaningful new chapter in the lives of the families who are receiving the title deeds.”

Ms Josephina Msibi, a beneficiary, said: “I have been waiting for a long time to receive my title deed.

“I am very happy that I am one of the many recipients and that I have received it while I am still alive.”

The handing over of title deeds will be rolled out to other towns in the area.
